The 1st day

Turkmenistan: Ashgabat city

Meeting tourist / s at the international Airport of Ashgabat. Transfer and hotel accommodation. 

Visit to the Carpet Museum, founded in 1994, has the largest collection of Turkmen carpets, ranging from the Middle Ages to the 21st century, including more than 1,000 carpets, 18th and 19th century. Next walk through the Park 10 years of Independence, the World of children’s fairy tales, Russian Bazaar, Lenin Monument

Visit the “Ancient Nisa” – the sanctuary of the Parthian kings (object under the protection of UNESCO), continued visits to the mosque “Ruhy” and the Mausoleum of the first President of Turkmenistan. Evening illumination of the city.

The 2nd day

Museum of History – Merv- Ashgabat

Early morning transfer to the airport for a flight to Mary at 06:15/06: 55. From the airport of the city of Mary a trip to the historical Park of Ancient Merv, was at the intersection of the roads of the great Silk Road and quickly became one of the largest cities. The capital competed with the cities of the Islamic world such as Baghdad, Cairo and Damascus. Guided tour: Gyz Gala, Erk Gala, Soltan Gala, the Mausoleum of SoltanSanjar, Ashby, Yusup- hamadani, Ibn Zeid Mausoleum. Next Museum of History, collected many artifacts excavated on the territory of Margush and Merv. To the Airport for a local flight to Ashgabat city at 19:00 / 19:40.

The 3rd day

Ashgabat

Tour of Ashgabat: parks and monuments, “Ertugrul Gazy” mosque. Visit the Museum of History an extensive ethnographic section including a large collection of Turkmen ornaments, carpets, stuffed animals, a fully decorated Yurt and ceramics from the time of the Mongolian occupation. Archaeological section, artifacts excavated in Merv and Margush, ceramics, weapons, household items and jewelry. To view: Cultural center “Alem”, Arch of Neutrality, the Memorial complex. Continuing the tour route to the local horse farm to see the Akhal-Teke horses. Output of horses of different colors, riding a horse inside the farm. Coffee break. Return to Ashgabat.

The 4th day

Ashgabat- Kow Ata

After Breakfast, drive to the Easter Bazaar “AltynAsyr”. Souvenirs, products from camel and goat hair, carpets, silver jewelry and many other goods are sold at the market.    

A trip to the underground lake Kow-Ata, located 107 km from Ashgabat. Turkmen name Kow-Ata means “father of caves”. The bottom of the cave is covered with lumps of dissolved limestone (stalagmites), and its warm and gushing water is transparent and emerald color. The water has a constant temperature of 33-37°C. (allowed to swim no more than 30/40 minutes).  Back to Ashgabat city.

The 5th day

Dashoguz city – Kene-Urgench – border Dashoguz/ Shavat

 

 

Border Shavat- Khiva

Early transfer to the airport by flight to Dashoguz at 06:00-06:50.  Excursion to Kunya-Urgench: the Mausoleum of Sahameddin Kubra, Sultan Ali mausoleum. Next visit: TurabekHanum, minaret of KutlugTimur, mausoleum of Sultan Tekesh, Mausoleum of Il Arslan, minaret Mamun second. Transfer to the Turkmen-Uzbek border Dashoguz / Shavat.

Khiva

City tour in Khiva: At the first half of the day, you are going to visit the oldest part of the city – Kunya-Ark fortress, including Kurinish Khana (17c); Mohammed-Amin-Khan (19c) Madrassah, Islam Khodja Minaret; Palvan-Kari complex, Abd Al Bobo complex (18c), Rafanek Madrassah, Mohammed Rakim Khan (19 c) Amir-Tur Madrassah, and Sho-I-Kalandar Bobo Mausoleum.

After lunch you will see Mazary Sharif Madrassah, Kheivak  well (10c), UchAvlioli («three saints») Mausoleum, Jami Mosque (18c), Kutluq-Murad Inaq (19c) Madrassah, and PakhlavanMahmoud Mausoleum.

The 7th day

Khiva – Bukhara

Today we will have a long transfer to Bukhara through the Kyzylkum desert. On the way, we will stop near the biggest river in Central Asia Amudarya (Oxus). Upon arrival to Bukhara, you will have free time for rest.

The 8th day

Bukhara

Full day city tour in BukharaIsmael Samani mausoleum (9-10c) – vault of Bukhara rulers’ dynasty, Chor-Minor, Chashma -Ayub Mausoleums (14 c), and Bukhara local bazaar. In Old Bukhara you are going to see Poli-Kalon ensemble including Minaret (12c) , Mosque (15c), functioning Madrassah Miri-Arab (16 c) Amir- Alim-Khan Madrassah (14c), Taqi (trading domes), and Kukeldash Madrassah (16c). After lunch time you will see Lyab-i-Hauz (17c), Nadir Divanbegi (17c), MagokiAttari (16c), Ulug Beg (15c), Abdul Aziz (17c) Madrassahs as well as Registan Ensemble, Ark Fortress (16c) and Bolo-Hauz complex (18 c).

The 9th day

Bukhara – Samarkand (290 km, 4 hrs drive total)

Drive to Samarkand. Upon arrival city tour in Samarkand: Registan square the complex of three historical building: Madrasah Ulugbek (15th c.), Madrasah Sher-dor (17th c.), Madrasah Tilla-Kori (17th c.) – the visiting card and the main attraction spot of Samarkand. Architectural complex Shakhi-Zindeh(11-15th c.) – the name Shah-I-Zinda (meaning “the living king”) comes together with the legend about Kusam Ibn Abbas, the cousin of the prophet Muhammad who was buried here. As if, he came to Samarkand with the Arab invasion in the 7th century to preach Islam. Popular legends say that he was beheaded for his faith. Mausoleum Guri Emir – Tamerlane’s tomb (14-15th c.) – Gur-e Amir means “Tomb of the King”. Bibi Khanum Mosque – name of the mosque translated as the “Elder wife” and it was built in honor of favorite Tamerlane’s wife, after his successful campaign in India.

The 10th day

Samarkand

 

Oibek – Khujand

 

 

After the breakfast, transfer to Uzbekistan – Tajikistan border check point Oybek, continue to Tajikistan.

TIME IN TAJIKISTAN

Tajik guide will meet you on the border and drive to Khujand city. It is the second largest city of  Tajikistan. It is situated on the Syr Darya River at the mouth of the  Fergana Valley. The population of the city is 149,000. It is also the capital of the northernmost province of Tajikistan, now called Sughd. You will visit in the afternoon a Cultural Palace of Khujant. At this place, the first president of Tajikistan was chosen. In addition, we will go to see Central Mosque that is situated in the middle of the city.

The 11th day

Khujand – Penjakent

In the morning we will drive to Penjakent via pass Shahriston (3 378 m). The city of Penjakent (“five villages”) is located in Khujand area of Tajikistan in a picturesque Zeravshan river valley. Quite possibly the five villages started the history of this remarkable city which originated in the 5th-8th centuries AD. Penjikent of that time was one of the most important cultural and crafts centers of Sogd. It was even named “Central Asian Pompeii”. It was a superbly fortified well-organized city with a ruler’s palace, two temples, markets, rich dwelling houses decorated with numerous paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods. The ruins of this ancient city were found only in the last century. Today the tourists can see the remains of dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshipers’ church.

The 12th day

Penjakent – Seven lakes – Khudjand

We will drive today to the Fannsky Gory (Fan Mountains). They are one of Central Asia’s most popular hiking areas. You will do a day trip from Panjakent to the Seven Lakes (Marquzor Lakes), about 60 km south of Panjakent. At this place you will have time to go for short hiking. There road goes along a gorge where 7 lakes are located. They are situated on different altitudes and have different colors. Also you will meet local people that live at that area. It will be very interesting to see their way of life.

After hiking we will drive back to Khudjand.

The 13th day

Khudjand

 

 

Guliston – Osh

Today we will drive to Tajik-Kyrgyz border. The road runs over mountains and high passes. On the way, you will drive via Batken region famous for its apricot trees and unique flower called Aygul.

TIME IN KYRGYZSTAN

Your Kyrgyz guide will meet you at the other side. In Osh city you will go for a walk there and visit the most famous place – Suleiman Mountain. Suleiman Too (Solomon’s Mountain) is situated in the center of the city and it is considered to be a pilgrimage place for local Muslims. According to the legend, biblical prophet Solomon (Suleiman in the Koran) was buried at the foot of it.

The 14th day

Osh – Bishkek

In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport to have a flight to Bishkek city. This entire day is dedicated to a guided tour of Bishkek. It includes visiting Pobeda Square (Victory Square), Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Central Ala-Too Square, the National Arts Museum, National Philharmonic, and many others places of interest. Traditional dinner.

The 15th day

Bishkek – Burana – Chon Kemin

Today you will be transferred to Chon Kemin gorge. On route to the gorge, you will visit Burana Tower (an 11th century minaret) and an open air museum of Balbals (stone warriors). After an interesting excursion and climbing on the top of the tower is transfer to Chon Kemingorge.

Here you will meet a nice family that will prepare a traditional lunch for you. In the afternoon, we will have 3 hours of horse riding. Your route will go high in the mountains and you will even ride horses through a mountain forest. On the top, you will see the panorama view of the gorge.

The 16th day

Chon Kemin – Issyk Kul lake northern shore – Karakol

Today you will be transferred to the celestial Issyk Kul Lake, the second largest alpine lake in the world (1608m.above sea level). The lake is called “the pearl of Central Asia”. For more than 1 500 years, local people considered the lake to be a sacred one. You can come up to the lake and to see mountains all around it. Today you will drive along the completely northern shore and arrive to Karakol town. In addition, we will visit today a place with ancient stone patterns – petroglyphs.

The 17th day

Karakol – JetiOguz – Issyk Kul southern shore – Kochkor

Today we will drive to JetiOguz gorge. It is famous for its red rocks formations that have a name Seven Bulls – JetiOguz. Visit the Broken Heart Mountain. If you want, it is possible to go on a top of a mountain (20 minutes) to see a panorama view of the gorge.

Then we continue our trip, breaking in Bokonbaeva village, where we will meet a local eagle-hunter. He hunts hares and foxes with the help of eagles (a traditional way of nomadic hunting).

Then we will continue drive to Kochkor village.

The 18th day

Kochkor – Bishkek

In Kochkorvillage, a local family will show you how our national felt carpets are made. You can even learn the art of felt making and create your own carpet together with them! You will have a chance to make your own picture with a help of colored wool and then all together we will beat it in a special way to get a nice felt carpet.  You will also get to visit a small handicraft museum there. They have many examples of silver decorations, coats made of wolves, horse saddle decorations, carpets and more.

Afterwards you will be transferred to the capital of Kyrgyzstan – Bishkek city. Upon arrival, you will have time to visit our Asian Bazaar where you will be able to take many dynamic photos of bustling local life. This bazaar is a noisy and colorful tapestry of fabrics, produce, and people selling and buying goods.

The 19th day

Bishkek

Almaty

After breakfast, drive 4 hours to Almaty city.

TIME IN KAZAKHSTAN

On the way you will pass a border control. Upon arrival you will have a city tour. The tour starts with sightseeing in central part of Almaty. You will know more about history and development of the Southern capital of Kazakhstan and see its major attractions. You will visit a popular place for town people – the Green Bazaar. It is the great chance to experience an atmosphere of the real eastern market, its colors, smells and crowds. Then the tour will continue in one of the oldest Almaty parks – Panfilov Park, where one of the most beautiful wooden building in the world – Zenkov Cathedral is located. You will also visit the Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame, dedicated to the memory of the fighters who died for freedom and independence of the country. Afterwards is visiting the Museum of Musical Instruments which is  named after Great Kazakh musician of XIX-XX centuries Ykylas, who promoted the purity of folk culture and preservation of various national instruments. Then is visiting of the Central State museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is one of the oldest and largest museums in Central Asia.

The 20th day

Almaty

This tour provides you the best opportunity to see the beautiful mountain surroundings of Almaty city. The first stop of the tour awaits you in the Medeo Gorge, where in the wonderful mountains of Trans-Ili Alatau the largest high mountain skating rink in the world is located as well as the huge dam, protecting the city from destructive mudflows formed on the tops of the western Tien Shan. Next destination is Shymbulak ski resort, located at an altitude of 2230 meters above sea level. It is very popular for its mild climate, large quantity of sunny days and snow through the winter and remarkable scenery of mountain ranges. Then your mountain adventure continues at the top of Kok-Tobe hill, which offers unforgettable panorama of Almaty in close proximity to the city. The tour ends with the short ride from the top of the hill to the center of the city by the famous Almaty cableway. You will also visit the Falcon Farm, where you will enjoy a spectacular show with specially trained hawks – hunting with them is one of the unique features of the Kazakh way of life.

The 21st day

Almaty – Charyn Canyon – Almaty

Today you will have a day trip to Charyn Canyons. It is one of the unique natural monuments of Kazakhstan. The canyon is about 12 million years old and surprises with its vertical cliffs, reminding the ancient castles, created by wind, sun and rain. It will take about 3 hours to reach the canyon. Meanwhile, you will hear a lot of interesting about the history and nature of the region, about Kazakh people, their life and traditions as well as have a lunch in a local cafe. You can admire the grand panorama and then have a walk through the maze of the Castles Valley with its inaccessible walls overhanging you. Back to Almaty.

The 22nd day

Almaty – Issyk lake– Almaty

The tour route to one of the most beautiful gorges of Trans-Ili Alatau – Issyk Gorge lies along the Kuldja tract, where hundreds of years ago the trade caravans travelled. On the way you will visit the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “ISSYK”, where you will see the expositions dedicated to the history and culture of the Saka period, including a copy of Golden Man and golden items, ancient ceramics, weapon, elements of horse equipment, as well as the model of Saka burial mound. Then the tour route will take you to an altitude of 1756 meters above sea level, to the beautiful mountain lake Issyk, located in the valley with the same name. On the lake you will enjoy the majestic beauty of its turquoise water surface and the Issyk Gorge, as well as listen to the details of the natural disaster of 1963. Also at the lake you will have a picnic and free time for recreation at nature. In the evening is transfer back to the city.
